Pressure Tester

Test in-bottle pressure after corking; steel case with brass internal parts. For still liquids. Also called a needle gauge or aphrometer. This pressure tester has a modified bottom mount compound gauge (reading from 30 inches of Hg to 30 PSI). Thread the needle into the bottom of the gauge, palm the gauge in your hand and plunge as straight as you can into the bottle cork. Once the needle tip hole enters the head space, the gauge will indicate vacuum or pressure in the bottle.

A needle on the end of the meter penetrates the cork to reach the inner trapped air in a filled bottle of liquid and measure the pressure in the glass.
