HI70300L is a storage solution prepared with reagent grade chemicals that can be used to ensure optimum performance of your pH and ORP electrodes. It is necessary to store a pH electrode in a solution in order to keep the glass membrane of the pH electrode hydrated. Ideally a storage solution should be used; never store an electrode in distilled or deionized water. The Hanna Instruments storage solution is specifically formulated to minimize microbial growth and to prevent any effects of diffusion/osmotic from storing a probe in a solution with the highly concentrated inner reference electrolyte. Storing your pH and/or ORP electrodes in a storage solution will also keep the junction clear. Maintaining the hydrated layer and clear junction will help to ensure a fast and reliable measurement. In the case of cleaning your pH electrode in one of our cleaning solutions, we recommend soaking the electrode in the HI70300L storage solution for at least one hour before taking measurements.

HI7082 is a pH and ORP electrode fill solution that contains 3.5M KCl, which is specifically produced for double junction electrodes. The electrolyte level in refillable electrodes should be checked before performing any measurements. If the level is low, refill with the proper electrolyte solution to ensure optimum performance. This simple maintenance helps guarantee adequate head pressure to promote the flow of reference electrolyte into the sample being measured.

The HI70635L is a highly effective cleaning solution that is specially formulated for use with pH electrodes that become coated with wine juice and must deposits. Electrodes can become dirty from use and will produce inaccurate results even as they read correctly in a pH buffer. Hanna’s cleaning solutions eliminate impurities and residues that are left on electrode surfaces when immersed in samples during measurement and stored incorrectly. Hanna suggests cleaning the bulb and junction of your electrode on a regular basis to ensure that the probe is always clean and prevent any clogging of the junction. Measuring the pH in wine is a critical step ensuring the quality of the final product, for more information read our ebook.

Hanna’s line of cleaning solutions have been specially formulated to have an expiration of 5 years from the date of manufacture for an unopened bottle.

The HI84102 total titratable acidity mini titrator incorporates a peristaltic pump dosing system for the accurate delivery of a titrant. The HI84102-55 is a pump calibration standard that is used to calibrate the dosing system. A calibrated dosing pump allows for the accurate determination of the amount of titrant used when performing a titration. The amount of volume dosed along with the concentration of the titrant is used by the pre-programmed formula within the HI84102 in determining the exact titratable acidity. The pump calibration procedure should be performed anytime the titrant or pH electrode is replaced. Routine calibration is recommended to ensure the highest of accuracy when performing a titration.
