Improved SO2 Assembly
Considered the improved method for the determination of free and total sulfur dioxide (SO2) in wine. Improved because it allows for free and total SO2 measurement resulting from the addition of the long condenser.
This apparatus incorporates the modifications and improvements made over many years of practical laboratory experience with the basic aeration-oxidation (vacuum aspiration) method. The necessity of using an efficient condenser to prevent volatile acids from being carried over and the use of precise glass frits to allow for thorough sparging of the bound SO2 have been proven to improve accuracy.
