Perky flavours of Agave smoke, and very subtle hints of lime, these barrel chips add a Tequila twist to a variety of beers.
Whether this is used for lighter beers such as Kolsch or Saison (in a half quantity), or adding a hint of smoky Agave to Stouts, Porters, Imperial beers, and Barley wine (in full quantity) these chips can addd something different to your next batch.
Usage varies by taste (Usually 1/2-1oz to light beers, and 2oz to 5 gallons of dark beer)
These chips are sanitized using a nitrogen purge and are ready to use right out of the bag.
Usage:
- Add 2 oz of chips per 5 gallons of beer during secondary fermentation
- Age beer on chips for 5 days
- Sample your beer
- If a more intense flavoring is required, allow another 5 days of aging before sampling again
Storing your chips:
- Store remaining chips in an airtight container
- Re-sanitize chips by soaking in a similar spirit for 48 hours before use
- Soak in a ratio of 1 oz. of chips to 1 oz. of spirits
