Flavour Essence:
Imparts the warming, complex notes of this desert drink to wine, baked goods, or anything else it is added to.
Instructions:
Pour the contents of this bottle and 85g of granulated sugar into a large pitcher; 2 L.
Fill with 1.5 L of 12-14% ABV neutral dry red wine and 115 mL of 40% ABV store purchased distilled alcohol, or vodka.
Shake well to mix thoroughly. If desired, thicken with 50 mL Glycerine.
Makes approximately 1.65 L of Port.
The fortified wine may now be consumed directly or used to flavor prepared foods, sauces, baked goods, desserts, confectionary or ice creams.
Extract may also be added directly to food and beverages without the addition of alcohol or sugar at a dosage rate of 1-3% by volume.
